White Pepper

While ground from the same peppercorns as black pepper is, white pepper has a milder flavor, aroma and heat level. Black peppercorns are dried after picking resulting in the black color whereas white peppercorns are picked and soaked to remove the outer skins so that the color of the ground pepper is not affected.
