Oregano

Native to the Mediterranean, oregano has been cultivated for centuries. It melds well with basil but can overpower if used in excess. Oregano has a distinctive sharp peppery element that makes it wonderful in tomato dishes as well as eggplant, zucchini and bell pepper.
